Python SUPER TACK Racquetball Rubber GRIP (Smooth Tacky)
Python SUPER TACK Racquetball Rubber GRIP (Smooth Tacky)
Purchase Python SUPER TACK Racquetball Rubber GRIP (Smooth Tacky)

We know you have been missing that clear, thin rubber grip and it is finally back from a brand you can trust. This new grip is called the Super Tack Racquetball Grip and it's made by Python. We have tested these over the last 6 months and if you are a tacky rubber grip fan once you try this you will never use another tacky smooth grip again.

The top reasons to buy the Super Tack rubber grip:

    • Python has been Racquetworld's #1 trusted grip brand for 20 years
    • We feel these adhere better to most racquet handles than competitors models even with WD40
    • We feel they are the tackiest on the market
    • Smooth tacky rubber grips are traditionally one of the least durable rubber grips, we feel the Python Super Tack lasts as long or longer than any other rubber grip
    • Very thin which is what our play testers have told they like the most about this grip
    • These are made in the USA unlike the competition!
    • This style grip has been harder to keep in stock than any other model due to the lack of stock from the manufacturers. At Python stock is never an issue so order with confidence and we will try and make sure we are never out of stock ever again
    • For installation use WD40 or Hair Spray - Both work perfect

The grip fit nicely using WD40, but unfortunately ripped the next morning after it dried. I emailed them and Mike at Customer service immediately sent a new one. Really impressed! Thanks guys!

    Good Grip with deficiencies

I play racquetball 3 times a week for two plus hours each. I would give this grip a 5-star rating for the results I experienced by using the tacky grip, except for the fact that they started to rip a couple of days after installation. I grip and string my own racquetball racquets so it only cost me for materials if I have to replace a grip every week; but if someone else is gripping your racquet it may become cost prohibitive to replace the grip weekly. Installation was fairly easy following the instructions from the python website as I found another use for WD-40.

Great product for the price/Easy install

Long review incoming: I used this grip on E-Force raquets but I'm sure will work on any type of racquet. I'm one of those players who's always adjusting my grip and its a must I have a good and durable grip. I like to say I'm a mid level open player and like to be able to play with a loose grip while using power and finesse up front. I'm notorious for breaking strings but I feel it's mostly due to low percentage shots and my grip slipping. I've tried many different grips and all were more expensive than the super tack and wear out quickly. Pros: -It's very tacky but also loses a little tack after used but still able to grip with decent gloves. -Easy install, I used WD40, remove all the tape and old grip down to the fiber glass handle (don't worry about the bar code if you have one) slightly spray the inside of grip and the handle, start twisting at a 45 degree angle over the knob of the handle then take your time sliding and twisting onto the handle. -The grip doesn't loosen up and stays snug. -doesn't change handle size much as it's thin material Cons: I didn't order more of them

    Difficult To Install
    03/16/2024
I had two of them tear during installation too much to use. The third has a small tear at the top (no big deal, I taped it) and a BB size whole opened at the bottom of the handle that has grown in size. I like the grip but three out of three have torn during installation.

Ive always been a fan of wrap grips. I thought I’d try these a found I really like it. Very tacky and it doesn’t seem to add extra bulk like some grips do. I restring racquets for some friends. It’s the only grip I’m going to keep on hand for myself or others.

I've been playing racquetball for more than 40 years. I've put on a lot of ribbed rubber grips of various brands as well as a few wrap grips. These Python tackies are the only ones that give me trouble. I got my 1st two in May of 2019. As always I heated them in hot water and used my tool* to stretch the insert end before sliding them—actually, trying to slide them—onto the racquet. Both split. Boo hoo. I used one of my ribbed grips instead. This fall I was trying various grips on a Gearbox racquet and bought 3 more. The first one I got all the way on (with WD-40) but then the butt end split. The 2nd one started to split as soon as I started to get it on, on maybe a little over half a centimeter, so I pulled it off. The third one the same result. I gave those last two to a local stringer, who installs a lot of grips, to try his luck. He cut off the split part of each, leaving the grips just a little shorter. The first one tore and was ruined, the 2nd one he got on. I'm liking it. Maybe I'm a fool but I'm about to buy 3 more. I hope that I don't need all 3 to get one playable. I've seen some comments about stretching the insert end with your fingers, round and round a few times. I'll try that. Lately I've been using WD-40 to install my grips with no problem. I used to use Gascacinch—which was my favorite gasket sealer back when I fixed cars—but it sets up in the can a little. I used hair spray once or twice long ago but didn't like it much. *The cap from a stamp pad re-inker bottle; the cap is a little smaller than the butts of my racquets.

I have a number of clients that have switched to the super tacky grip from the ribbed version. Either version is challenging to install the first couple of attempts. Stretching the top end of the grip is a good first step. Do not be bashful in your use of WD40. The thing I want you all to look for are tiny knicks on either end of the grip. Those knicks turn into tears and a ruined job. The order before last I had 4 bad grips and had to reorder. I would have ordered the Ektelon tacky, but RacquetWorld no longer carries it, so hoped for the best with my reorder of the Python. The current order, like all other previous orders is fine, but be careful - I'm certain you have no chance of returning a grip if it is torn.
Also Make sure there are no staples left on the handle from a prior grip. These must be removed or they will tear the new grip.

Python SUPER TACK Racquetball Rubber GRIP (Smooth Tacky)

I had a friend that used these grips, I always thought that they felt good in my hand, I like a tacky grip. I had never played with the grip, so I was sure how it would hold up in action. I ordered two of them, they were delivered on time to my home. I don't know if you have ever put a pull on grip on your racquet, but it is a bit challenging. My tip to you would be stretch out the first end, several times before trying to put this on your racquet. I did not do this for the first racquet, and it took me awhile to get it on. I then went to the net, where I watched a video, the guy used his fingers to stretch the grip, he did this several times, working it around and around. You must remove all of your old grip or tape, down to the wood. Give a good soaking with some WD-40, then start to put the grip on, you must, angle it, so that the back end of the grip covers the knob...then use your thumbs to push the other part of the other end of the knob. Once you get it on about 1/4 inch, you stand the racquet on just push it down, at that point it will go on real easy. Like I said the first racquest was a challange, took me about 10 minutes and lots of curse words. I did the second one in about 3 minutes, with only a few curse words. I played with my main racquet and new grip last night, and can honestly say, the racquest never turned in my hand, I am loving the new grip...it makes a world of difference. I will need to see how long the tackiness lasts, I believe it will, but I will update in a month and let everyone know.

    Thin & Tacky

Very thin and super tacky. I used hair spray based on the installation instructions and it's on there tight with no twisting. This is my new favorite grip.
