It's finally here. After putting Graphene into Head's Tennis and Squash line of racquets that made them both #1 selling lines in each sport they finally decided to inject Graphene into their 2014-2015 racquetball line to make the best Racquetball Racquet series in the history of Head Racquetball. Right now our best all time selling line of racquets we have at Racquetworld.com is the Liquid Metal Series and Graphene will be next in line as this technology infiltrates the racquetball world. This year Head has 3 racquet weights to choose from which are the 160, 170, and 180. If you have a very fast swing speed or are a younger player (35 or less) grab the 160 but if you are 35+ the 170 or 180 would work best for you.

What is Graphene exactly? Well Graphene is an ultra-light and ultra-strong substance which is 200 times stronger than steel. Head places Graphene in the shaft so that weight can be redistributed to more functionally relevant areas of the handle and tip. This unique construction provides players with increased swing weight for more power with less effort.

These are available in both the smaller 3 5/8 and larger 3 7/8 grip sizes..

If you're unsure about your model or weight...try our DEMO Program.

A racquet cover IS NOT provided by the manufacturer with this racquet. You have the option to add a cover for $8-$12 if you would like.

    RacquetWorld General Notes

RacquetWorld recommends changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), which will be $12.00 installed, for the added traction to prevent slippage.  The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($2) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down. For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through. When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.

The Python Atlas Deluxe string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable than the Python Atlas Deluxe string we suggest. At the time of purchase, the Python Atlas Deluxe restring upgrade is $29.95.  It's normally $45 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $15 if you choose the upgrade right away. This string comes in Black or Natural and it’s a very soft string with incredible playability/durability. We recommend the 17g as it’s right in the middle of 16g (most durable) and 18g (most playable but less durable).

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Megasorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge. If you want to change colors, a small fee of $3.95 will be added for switching.

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?"It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra 2 bucks to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

Racquet Covers - Choose one for $8-$12 (RacquetWorld Cover is Only $8.00)

A full racquet cover is NOT provided by the manufacturer with this racquet. You have the option of adding a full cover for $8-12 if you would like. If you want the best cover on the market buy the Racquetworld Cover. It is oversized, has a full outside pocket, a handle strap and a large shoulder strap as well as a ventilated pocket to let your grip breathe and best of all its $2-$4 less than the others because we want to help you by supporting our company! The charge will only be $8.00 when added to the cart for this choice instead of $10.00-$12.00 like the other covers.

Senior male player who still runs fairly well and hits the ball with a little aggression... LOL Love this racquet. It is crisp and strong. It adds to my game without amplifying any of my bad habits. The demo program I used to decide on this one really fit my typical shopping approach. I was really taken care of by the staff. Kim in particular was knowledgeable and went the extra mile for me just because I don't think she's knows any other way of taking care of you!

This is a very nice racquet, however after just a few uses, I have to replace the grip and the bottom is coming off :( Overall, nice racquet.

    As Expected

I knew exactly what I wanted when I ordered. I got exactly that delivered. There were two separate ways to get to this website and one resulted in a much lower price. Not sure how that works, but it’s worth looking around.

    New racquet

Really like the new racquet, I used the recommended for my age after reading the reviews that were age rated. My pop is back on drive serve without loss of accuracy. Overall I am pleased with the new racquet, the wrist string did untie last week but it was easily retied with the but-cap having a closed path to return the string when inserted.

    Head Graphene 180 Racquet
    12/19/2023
Light racquets in the past usually required a faster/harder swing to get the power I wanted, however this racquet is one of the best feels I’ve ever had. It’s light, very well balanced, and has the power I like with just a normal swing (like I would use with previous heavier racquets). I had RW put on Tecnifbre 17ga which gave it a great feel. I don’t even need the vibration dampener. Will most likely get another one for backup/tournaments. The only disappointment was the free t-shirt was a tank top that is not good looking or would even fit right.

I love the racquet. I got it restrung, got the rubber grip, and it works great for me. I have even improved my game, such as it is! The Python glove is great, too. Having an extra small size really helps.

Thumbs Up to the 180 racquet!
    06/10/2023
I'm 57, I started playing last year after being out of the game for 30 years. It has been a few years since I've actively worked out. I started with lighter racquets, but I wasn't able to achieve the consistent accuracy needed to compete. I read the weight recommendations on Racquetworld.com and started looking for a more properly weighted racquet. I saw the reviews on this racquet. I did the recommended restring(don't forget the tape) and upgraded the grip. Well worth the price. I play 3 time a week, excellent improvement in my game. Thanks for the advice and reviews.

Getting back on the court at age 54, after 14 years
    04/25/2023
    Verified Buyer
Retired from the military, decided to get back on the court. I ordered this racquet after reading the reviews about it being good for older (slower, not necessarily smarter) players. I have played a couple of times and can recommend without reservations. It's much better than the Ektelon racquet I used many years ago. Solid control, even if I'm slower to get to balls. Great power! I remember playing against older players, and learning a lot about letting the other guy do a lot of chasing. This racquet is great for making them do that! One recommendation is to make sure you get a glove. I played my first game without one, and it is much needed!

I've always had an E-force 190, love the Heatseeker, I've bought at least 4-5 Heatseekers over the years, got an apocalypse 190 and didn't like it.....I just bought the Head 180, not use to the lighter racquet, all shots were hitting the floor first, but the few I did hit good, were kill shots, doesn't seem to have the power of the E-force 190, but seems a little more accurate, there was some vibration I could feel, even with the damper it came with...I only used once so far just practicing, haven't played in a game with it yet.....time will tell.

Replaced my broken Liquid Metal with this
    02/05/2023
    Verified Buyer
My Liquid Metal (LM) racquet finally gave out (literally broke the frame, but it had a good life...) and I wanted to simply replace it, but they don't seem to make them anymore. I decided to try this one and I am still getting used to it, but I think it will be fine. It feels a little lighter than my LM, but both were spec'd at 180 gr. This seems to have a little more power and the control is good, so I can't find anything I don't like about it. I'm 67 (or course, I play like I'm 57) and I think this is the racquet for me.

After the 3rd game I knew this was the racquet for me, as an older player 63, I play better with a heavier stick, this one was the ticket. Python 17G deluxe string was recommended by Racquetworld and I will go with that from now on. I am not sure if there is a perfect racquet but this one is close! My game has noticeably improved as I am winning more best of 3 games. I bought a second one just like it so if one needs a restring I have one at the ready and avoid having to re-adjust to a different racquet. My serve has more power and my kill shots are more accurate.

I have played with the racquet for a couple of weeks and it feels great. It handles well in all phases of the game. I had to redo the worm installed by racquet world as it was too tight and didn't help with vibrations. I lowered other strings and left some slack and now..no vibrations.

    Impressed
    07/31/2021
Very impressed with this racquet. I've been playing with an E-force for the past several years and this racquet is lighter. But the thing about this racquet that I like the most is the heavier head weight. The sweet spot is a bit higher on the racquet which is something I really like.

    Yet another great Head Racquet
    01/01/2021
    Verified Buyer
I rotate through a number of racquets, including an E-Force, a Pro-Kennex, and two Heads. This was a very good price on a good racquet and it seems to be a nice compromise between the power of the E-Force and the control of the Pro-K. I'm an older player, 64, and so far this racquet hasn't causes any noticeable aches or pains. I'd buy it again.

    Perfect Racquet for me
    02/21/2020

I had used an Ektelon 190 for years. Then I switched to the Gearbox 165. The former was too heavy for me, the latter too light. The Head Graphene 180 is perfect for me. I feel like Goldilocks. Perfectly balanced. Great power. Excellent control. My game has improved. I’d been losing 15-6 or so. Now, I’m losing 15-12. Lookout, world!

I was with another manufacturer for many years and it took a little time to adjust to the Head. I'm an older player and first time using a 180. Very little vibration and no elbow feedback. Good power and control. I'm happy after a month or so.

I have been playing for 35 years. After going through dozens of racquets I find the head racquets to be the most durable and consistent playing product. I purchased both the 170 an$ 180 radical racquets. If you are looking for power and control look no further. You won’t regret buying them.

I am a B or C level player in my mid 40’s. I love my Head 175ti but was wondering if I could get more power out of a heavier racquet. I read the reviews on RacquetWorld for plyers over 45 and this racquet came up in the top 10. I used it and instantly saw the difference in my power on drive serves. I don’t feel like I’ve lost any control either. 1st day with it, I beat a guy that I never beat before. If you have a slightly slower or a big tennis-like swing this may be the racquet for you.

Forty years ago I played most days and some competitively, but walked away from it due to family, work, and living out of the U.S. Just recently purchased the new Graphene Radical 180, and with a couple of times slapping the ball around find that this is a dream racquet, exactly what I wanted. I feel that both power and control are easier with this newer generation racquet than with my previous Leach Graphite.

    Exclusive RacquetWorld Racquet Ratings

Ratings and comparisons for all racquets can be found in RacquetWolrd Exclusive Racquet Ratings

    Racquetworld's Durability Rating:  99.20

    Racquetworld's Power Rating: Age 24-  97.44  Age 35  99.00  Age 45+  99.23

    Racquetworld's Control Rating #1 (Front Court):  99.63

Control 1 (Front Court) represents how the racquet handles upfront in the court. We are basically looking at how certain components stacked together to produce good (or bad) racquet maneuverability. To figure this out we look at the weight, balance point, and shape of the frame. We throw all this info into Pat's brain along with a couple hours of hit testing and out pops the rating. This value is useful especially for doubles players who find themselves covering the upfront court a lot. It is also good to know if you are a good server and find yourself quickly putting away returns off your serve without leaving front middle court.

    Racquetworld's Control Rating #2 (Back Court):  99.30

Control 2 (Back Court) represents the traditional control rating when taking a full shot from mid to back court. Our goal with control is to redirect the Force of the ball. We again focus on weight, balance point, shape, string pattern and tension, frame stiffness and on court experience.

    Racquetworld's Overall Rating: Age 24-   97.70   Age 35  98.01   Age 45+  98.75

    Graphene - New for 2014 - 2015

Graphene exploded on the tennis world last year and has now made it over to Head's Racquetball Racquet Line..

Discovered in 2004, Graphene™ consists of a single two-dimensional layer of carbon atoms. This material has a breaking strength 200 times greater than steel, which makes it the ultimate substance for creating new HEAD racquetball racquet frames with exceptional properties. Graphene technology allows for the first time an optimal redistribution of weight in HEAD racquets allowing for the creation of lightweight racquets with balance point never before acheived.

    Benefit:

    • Has a breaking strength 200 times greater than steel.
    • Enables us to create lightweight racquets and shift the balance points down to a level we could not achieve in the past.
    • This creates increased swing speed which causes the racquet to become radically powerful.
    • In addition to the increased power, the racquet also becomes very maneuverable.

    IGS2

The next generation of Head's revolutionary Inner Grommet System Technology, IGS2, eliminates exterior grommet holes delivering optimal stiffness, but with less weight. Each tube is now lined with Teflon friction reducing polymer allowing the strings to slide through the IGS tubes with nearly no friction. This results in maximum energy transfer which increases power on every shot.

    Power Channels

    Power Channels

Head takes Power Channels to the next level! This power technology is created through molded tubes in the throat, eliminating exterior string holes and the traditional grommet system. This lengthens each main string and creates maximum stiffness which results in an incredible increase in raw power. The Power Channels are now equiped with Teflon friction reducing polymer allowing the strings to slide through the Power Channels with nearly no friction resulting in maximum energy transfer which increases power on every shot

    Power Stabilizers

    Power Stabilizers

Head panteted twin-tube technology has been strategically positioned in the head of the racquet to provide maximum stability on every shot.

    DuraZone String Pattern

    DuraZone String Pattern

Head engineers have eliminated 33% of the grommet holes in the head of the racquet by developing innovative shared ports. This results in increased durability and maximum stiffness. In addition, Head has lowered the Power Channels deeper into the throat of the racquet increasing the length of each main string for more power.
