The GB250 series is what started it all for Gearbox in helping make them the powerhouse racquet manufacturer they are today. These racquets come in 165g Tear, 165g Quad, 165g Quad Feather, 170g Tear and 185g Quad weights. When the GB 250 series sold for $200 it was hard to keep in stock and now that it is below $140 it will be even harder. Pick up 1, 2 or 3 before it’s too late as this will be one of the best deals we have available in this price range.

RacquetWorld General Notes
RacquetWorld recommends changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), which will be $12.00 installed, for the added traction to prevent slippage. The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($2) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down. For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through.When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.
The Python Atlas Deluxe string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable than the Python Atlas Deluxe string we suggest. At the time of purchase, the Python Atlas Deluxe restring upgrade is $29.95. It's normally $45 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $15 if you choose the upgrade right away. This string comes in Black or Natural and it’s a very soft string with incredible playability/durability. We recommend the 17g as it’s right in the middle of 16g (most durable) and 18g (most playable but less durable).
If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Megasorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).
The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge.If you want to change colors, a small fee of $3.95 will be added for switching.
A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?"It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper.For an extra 2 bucks to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

My first Gearbox is a Max1 165T, which I still have. I like the GB 250 170 Teardrop more because I'm older and my swing is not as fast as it used to be. The teardrop shape provides power and front court touch. Glad I up graded the strings to 18g.

This is a Badass racquet for the money. Last racquet was a black widow. I liked it but it was a bit delicate. Did not hold up. The G Box racquet seems more durable. And I am liking the power.

I am an Elite player having played with Eforce most of my years. the main issue with Eforce was the somewhat longer handle length and wrist snap and court responsiveness time to bring racquet around for quick hits.. Gearbox design corrected this years ago and with yearly improvements made this the best racquet around. in fact I bought the 2022 model and did not like it and sold them and as as lark bought this for 100 dollars less and it plays equal to the new model!

Broke my Head 170 and found no one stocking the large grip. Many of my partners have gone to Gearbox and I played a few loaners. Wanted a new racquet for end of season championships so I ordered this 170T. It came on second day. I love it. It felt familiar immediately. Took me all the way to the finals - where I ran out of gas in the tiebreaker to a guy who wasn’t born yet when I started playing in college. Great racquet - great delivery time.

I love this racket! I actually just bought a second one as a spare or for a partner. Super light but strong. I like the colors too. 1st good racket purchased and glad I picked it. You should not be disappointed. I have big hands so I chose the bigger grip of 3 15/16ths. The smaller grip was too small for me. Buy it!

I went from Head Liquid Metal to the GearBox GB 250 as RW had an amazing Cyber Monday sale.
Just tried it for the first time and while I took a bit of adjusting going from a balanced Head, to a top heavy GearBox. However, I can say that my weak shots that I usually miss, I was able to much better return off the backhand and make them a defensive-offensive shot.
I am very pleased with the control as well; I was able to place the ball right where I wanted and basically killing all the power of the other player without much effort.
I went with the 170 which is the same weight that I have with the Head Liquid Metal. This racquet looks and feels great; and even at the 129 price, it is a superb racquet. Nothing to lose. Highly recommended. Will most likely end up buying another to have a backup.
