    RacquetWorld General Notes

RacquetWorld recommends changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), which will be $12.00 installed, for the added traction to prevent slippage.  The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($2) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down. For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through. When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.

The Python Atlas Deluxe string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable than the Python Atlas Deluxe string we suggest. At the time of purchase, the Python Atlas Deluxe restring upgrade is $29.95.  It's normally $45 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $15 if you choose the upgrade right away. This string comes in Black or Natural and it’s a very soft string with incredible playability/durability. We recommend the 17g as it’s right in the middle of 16g (most durable) and 18g (most playable but less durable).

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Megasorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge. If you want to change colors, a small fee of $3.95 will be added for switching.

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?"It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra 2 bucks to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

Racquet Covers - Choose one for $8-$12 (RacquetWorld Cover is Only $8.00)

A full racquet cover is NOT provided by the manufacturer with this racquet. You have the option of adding a full cover for $8-12 if you would like. If you want the best cover on the market buy the Racquetworld Cover. It is oversized, has a full outside pocket, a handle strap and a large shoulder strap as well as a ventilated pocket to let your grip breathe and best of all its $2-$4 less than the others because we want to help you by supporting our company! The charge will only be $8.00 when added to the cart for this choice instead of $10.00-$12.00 like the other covers.

Wow! What a racket. Wasn’t expecting much for a $100 racket but this performs better than $250 racket. Great control & power. Will buy again

I am 75, play four hours a week and this is replacing a twenty-five year old racquet. My serves have improved with the additional power and I am still discovering what I can do with softer shots. Overall, I am happy. I had some self inflicted order issues and they dealt with me fairly and quickly.

Pro Kennex Platinum 175 Worth It!

Great racquet right out of the package. After not having played for years and post total knee surgery, I was dying for a balanced racquet to get me back in the game. During my military career I only used Pro Kennex and finding this deal was an easy pick. If you have been playing with a beginner this will up your game!

Really like it so far. Doesn’t seem to have the power that I had with other racquets but am a touch player so not really an issue. Used lighter racquets in the past (also head light) but didn’t really notice a difference in my play with this one. Can’t beat the price!

We got these because they were on sale and the loaner racquets at our gym are in terrible shape. Our game improved significantly, even from the first game. Longer rallies, better exercise, more control, less arm strain. The sweet spot seems to be pretty big. After playing for about an hour per day, 4 days straight, my wife was having a hard time gripping the racquet well, but that only happened once. Gloves might fix this, or maybe the grip is too large for her hand. She wears a women's small glove usually. I wear a men's medium in all gloves and it feels great in my hand, and I have no hand or arm fatigue. Would recommend, especially at the sale price!

    PK Platinum 175 LE

I just demoed this racquet alongside another one. Both were head light which is my preferred weight distribution. The other one is a brand that I have played for years and loved. The other demo racquet was good, and the specs were very similar to the racquet that I am replacing, and after the demo week my playing partners were begging me to buy the other one because I was playing so much better with this one (the PK). I just hit 50yo, and I'm guessing that I needed slightly more weight to control, hit through, and groove my swing, but that's just a guess. But every shot was effortless and under control. The biggest instant improvement that I found was in my drive serve. I can't say that I was hitting it harder, but my placement was spot on. Another things that I would add about this racquet is that it has a huge sweetspot. Yes, it's a little heavier than I am used to, but I'm sure that I'll adapt to that quickly seeing how well I played with it this past week. I now have a PK Platinum 175 LE on order, and I'm very excited about it getting here. (I almost bought 2 at this price to have a backup, but I'm going to play with this one for a bit before pulling that trigger.)

After being off the court for 25 years, I discovered how much the equipment has changed. I played with a borrowed racquet before purchasing this one. I think it was a gearbox. Nice racquet. I saw the ProKennex and loved the price. Upgraded the string and grip. Strings are great and the grip doesn't slip. I'm enjoying the weight and performance of the racquet! Wish RacquetWorld was around 25 years ago!

Been using a cheap $20 racquet for two years and since it completely got wrecked, I decided to invest in this guy and omg what an awesome racquet. Much lighter and I feel more confident in my shots. Don’t expect it to carry or make your game way better but it will get your game up there.

I been using pro kennel racquets for around twenty years and it’s all I use! I must say they are more brittle and crack at a high rate but still it is my favorite! The platinum 175 is not as well constructed than my other kinetic torque reduction racquet which did crack twice. I did have it repaired which lasted about a year. The platinum did make up from its high quality strings, which I can make amazing shots and control!

First pro raquet - wasn't expecting this

I'm a rather novice to intermediate player (weekend fun with the guys on outdoor courts). I had a cheaper E-force racquet I bought at Dicks Sporting Goods years ago. Finally after a few years, my friends and I started playing again and I knew I needed something else. After shopping around online, I found the PK Platinum 175 on clearance for half the msrp. What a heck of a nice racquet. Being head-light makes it extremely agile allowing me to hit shots I rarely made before. It's going to take some time adjusting to this new racquet, but I'm extremely impressed. After a few rounds I tried to play with my old cheap racquets and couldn't believe the difference in weight/feel/performance. I actually let a friend use the racquet and now he's buying one for himself after one match hahaha. I'm sure it's not the best racquet in the game, but it's a heck of an upgrade from the cheap racquets you'd find at Walmart or a sporting goods store! Plus those corporations don't need your money - support small businesses!

I wanted another 175 racquet and had been watching this one for some time. I play about 3x per week and really like this racquet, good control and balance coupled with excellent speed and response. I am an older player and the 175 weight is perfect for me. I have a 170 head which is a little light, but prefer the PK 175. Excellent value for the money.

Big fan of Pk racquets. Had to give this value stick a shot. Took a minute to get used to the balance of the racquet but once I tightened up my swing I was firing kill shots from the back of the court. Awesome power. Would suggest uprgrading the strings to python atlas 18. 33yr B player

Handles well, needed a slightly heavier racquet as I'm no longer a spring chicken at 68, for added power.

    Exclusive RacquetWorld Racquet Ratings

Ratings and comparisons for all racquets can be found in RacquetWolrd Exclusive Racquet Ratings

    Racquetworld's Durability Rating:  94.00

    Racquetworld's Power Rating: Age 24-  93.08  Age 35  93.58  Age 45+  92.10

    Racquetworld's Control Rating #1 (Front Court):  93.08

Control 1 (Front Court) represents how the racquet handles upfront in the court. We are basically looking at how certain components stacked together to produce good (or bad) racquet maneuverability. To figure this out we look at the weight, balance point, and shape of the frame. We throw all this info into Pat's brain along with a couple hours of hit testing and out pops the rating. This value is useful especially for doubles players who find themselves covering the upfront court a lot. It is also good to know if you are a good server and find yourself quickly putting away returns off your serve without leaving front middle court.

    Racquetworld's Control Rating #2 (Back Court):  92.59

Control 2 (Back Court) represents the traditional control rating when taking a full shot from mid to back court. Our goal with control is to redirect the Force of the ball. We again focus on weight, balance point, shape, string pattern and tension, frame stiffness and on court experience.

    Racquetworld's Overall Rating: Age 24-   93.07   Age 35  93.32   Age 45+  92.58

RacquetWorld Pro Kennex Racquetball Racquet Technology Section - Pro Kennex Technology Section

    • Kinetic
    • Nano Autocure
    • Hot Melt

    Kinetic Technology...

It's all about kinetic energy. As you swing the Kinetic racquet foward, tiny elements of kinetic mass, housed in dozen of of chambers around the racquet head, are storing energy. When the ball hits the strings, the strings flex and the ball compresses. The ball speed drops to zero. The ball and string are now loaded with energy. Finally the racquet frame flexes backward as your swing continues. Going with the flow, the ball assumes the racquets's forward speed. Forces are now in place to set off a scientifically calculated Kinetic reaction. The ball and strings now start releasing their stored energy causing the ball to go faster than the racquet. At this moment, the energy release from the ball and strings triggers the kinetic mass. It explodes forward in all chambers. This activated mass joins with the mass of the racquet to increase the area of efficiency of the hitting surface and magnify the possibilities of a good shot.

    Nano Autocure Technology...

The only autoclave process in the world that is used in racket sports technology. The Nano autocure process removes air and impurities from between the graphite layers to create a totally seamless racquet for strength and flexibility.

    Hot Melt Technology...

The most consistent graphite manufacturing process used in the racquet sports technology. With 40T super micro carbon fiber, the shaft is compressed under extremely high pressure to create the strongest shaft delivering maximum flexability. Perfect for high level players
