Description of the Racquet

Head's back in full force in 2009-2010 with their new series of racquets. These racquets are the most powerful racquets Head has ever produced. The 165 weight is back which is what many Head fans have been looking for since the IGS Liquid Metal series. These have some of the coolest graphics ever put on a racquet and back it up with their names (Problem Child, Mean Streak, and Dirty Deed). These will be sure winners this year and going forward.

This year the racquet series comes in 165 (Problem Child), 175 (Meanstreak) and 185 (Dirty Deed) gram weights. Our younger players will prefer the 165 or 175 and our slightly older players will prefer the 185 frame as the extra weight will help to carry the swing through.

Corrugated Technology "CT" - Corrugated rails are incorporated into the throat area of the racquet. These corrugated rails increases stiffness up to 12% vs. conventional racquet design which results in explosive power on every shot!

Power Stabilizer - Head patented twin-tube technology has been positioned in the head of the racquet which provides maximum stability of every shot.

Microgel is a new space-age technology has allowed HEAD to design their most solid hitting racquet ever! Microgel is a revolutionary silicone-based material that can support up to 4000 times its own weight. This low density material is injected between the graphite layers throughout the entire frame. Upon ball impact HEAD Microgel compresses, absorbing and dispering the impact to the entire frame, then returns quickly to its original shape. This creates incredible performance with ROCK SOLID POWER!

So what is MX? It stands for Metallix which is a specially developed Matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. This alloy's grain size is 1000 times smaller than those of a typical metal, and by decreasing grain size, you increase performance. Overall, Metallix allows for a stronger, stiffer, and more powerful construction.

Each racquet comes with a free Fran Davis sample dvd. $34.95 value!

If you're unsure about your model or weight...try our DEMO Program.

These are available in 3 5/8 and 3 7/8 grip sizes.

RacquetWorld's General Notes

I would recommend changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), or Head TackiMac  for the added traction to prevent slippage.  The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($1) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down.  For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through.  When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.

The Prince Premier string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable then the Prince Premier string we suggest.  At the time of purchase, the Prince Premier restring upgrade is $21.95.  It's normally $36 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $14 if you choose the upgrade right away.

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Ektelon Silencer (Our favorite), Head Hydrosorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge.  If you want to change colors, a small fee of $2.95 will be added for switching.

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?"  It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet.  Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper.  For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.
