Description of the Racquet

We've had LE (Limited Edition) racquets produced before. But this particular racquet is a little different. This racquet's look as well as it's cover were actually designed by Ruben Gonzalez himself. This is a historic year in racquetball as Ruben tries to become one of the first athletes at age 60 to be in the top 10 professional ranking of our sport. (We couldn't find any "active" individual sport were a 60 year old was in the top 10 in the world rankings..ever). The new EXO3 RG Toron Limited Edition is a combination of his current O3 RG and the classic Toron which was the racquet he played with when he was #1 in the world. The new modified teardrop head shape is built for maximum power and has the highest power level Ektelon has ever produced at 4200.

The Ektelon EXO3 RG Toron Limited Edition is available in 2 grip sizes. The SSR (Super Small Round is designed for the player with a very small hand or one that likes a traditional round handle. The SS (Super Small) which is the same small grip flat handle that Ektelon has produced for years.

RacquetWorld's General Notes

I would recommend changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), or Head TackiMac  for the added traction to prevent slippage.  The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($1) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down.  For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through.  When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.

The Prince Premier string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable then the Prince Premier string we suggest.  At the time of purchase, the Prince Premier restring upgrade is $21.95.  It's normally $36 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $14 if you choose the upgrade right away.

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Ektelon Silencer (Our favorite), Head Megasorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge.  If you want to change colors, a small fee of $2.95 will be added for switching.

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?"  It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet.  Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper.  For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

Energy Bridge Inserts

The New EXO3 Ruben Gonzalez Toron Limited Edition comes with energy bridge Silver inserts.

The default from the factory is all Silver inserts for a 170g weight. The inserts are strung into the racquet so to change them the racquet must be restrung.

	EXO3 features The Energy Channel, a radical new frame design which creates elongated open channels located at the 12, 3 and 9 o’clock positions of the frame – which moves the mass to the outer most edges of the frame for exceptional stability. Complementing the Energy ChannelTM of EXO3 is a visible, engineering breakthrough called the Energy BridgeTM. Soft thermoplastic pieces are inserted into the Energy Channel to create an exo-skeletal bridge structure along the outside surface of the frame. The result is a string bed that is almost entirely suspended from the frame itself. Energy BridgeTM – An exo skeletal structure made from thermoplastic that creates racquetball’s first suspended string bed. The suspended string bed increases the virtual headsize of the racquet and reduces frame vibration by up to 63% and enlarges the sweetspot by up to 51%
	Energy ChannelTM – A sculpted groove within the frame that enhances the dynamic benefits of the Energy BridgeTM to provide added stability, boost ball control and increase spin.

Racquetworld's Control Rating #1 (Front Court):  97.00

Control 1 (Front Court) represents how the racquet handles upfront in the court. We’re basically looking at how certain components stacked together produce good (or bad) racquet maneuverability. To figure this out we look at the weight, balance point, and shape of the frame. We throw all this info into Pat’s brain along with a couple hours of hit testing and out pops the rating. This value is useful especially for doubles players who find themselves covering the upfront court a lot. It’s also good to know if you’re a good server and find yourself quickly putting away returns off your serve without leaving front middle court.

Racquetworld's Control Rating #2 (Back Court):  96.00

Control 2 (Back Court) represents the traditional control rating when taking a full shot from mid to back court. Our goal with control is to redirect the Force of the ball. We again focus on weight, balance point, shape, string pattern and tension, frame stiffness and on court experience.
