Description of the Racquet
What did Ektelon come up with for the 2004-2005 season? Well instead of just 1 power ring, they added 2...yes 2 Power Rings for what they call the DPR (Double Power Ring) series of racquet. The DPR technology extends the string length longer than any Ektelon racquets of the past for increased power. We are selling A TON of these frames now that's it's under $100!! One of the best deals on the market today.
If you're unsure about your model or weight...try our DEMO Program.
These are available in the SS grip size only.
The factory wristlacer for this racquet is a low quality looped cord, we recommend upgrading to the Black wristlacer for $2.95.
A racquet cover IS NOT provided by the manufacturer with this racquet. You have the option to add a cover for $10 if you would like.
RacquetWorld's General Notes
I would recommend changing the grip to a Python (Our favorite), or Head TackiMac for the added traction to prevent slippage. The Racquetworld Grommet Tape upgrade ($1) can save you $$ in the long run as sometimes strings break from the grommet being worn down. For those who don't know what the grommet is, it's the plastic piece at the top of the racquet that the strings go through. When you hit the wall and floor this gets worn down.
The Prince Premier string upgrade is recommended because factory string is less playable/durable then the Prince Premier string we suggest. At the time of purchase, the Prince Premier restring upgrade is $21.95. It's normally $36 if you mailed the racquet to us later so you save $14 if you choose the upgrade right away.
If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Ektelon Silencer (Our favorite), Head Megasorb, Gamma Worm or the BBB (Big Bad Band).
The wristlacer black is the default wrist tether that comes on your racquet at no charge. If you want to change colors, a small fee of $2.95 will be added for switching.
A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?" It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!
We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

DPR (Double Power Ring)...
Ektelon's new technology for the 2004-2005 season. They took the popularity of their Power Ring and made it double! This creates longer main strings for ultimate power. The main strings wrap around two Power Rings in the throat, increasing main string length creating Ektelon's most powerful racquet ever with a power level of 2500. Grommet-less throat increases frame durability and stiffness.

Other Ektelon Technologies Used
PowerLock...

PowerLock, a patented molding technique featured in all the new MORE performance racquets, adds more power and strength by eliminating the need to drill holes into the frame. PowerLock delivers extra stiffness and 100% frame fiber integrity for more stability and power. Will the no grommet system work? Ektelon says they've done much testing on it so we'll have to wait and see but the racquets hit great.
Direct Contact...

Ektelon's exclusive PowerLock construction creates Direct Contact string channels with no drilled holes or grommets. Ektelon's new system creates a very lively string bed for enhanced power.
Air +comfort...

The new grip system for the MORE performance racquets, the clear grip of the Air + Comfort handle reveals four air-filled quandrants that move independently for MORE shock absorption and grip ventilation. The red cross dampener at the bottom quiets frame vibrations for extra comfort.
Tungsten...
Tungsten is a strong dense metal which provides precision weight distribution, allowing further weight reduction in non critical areas, to deliver superior sweet spot size, power, directional control, and reduced shock in a lighter weight racquet frame.

PowerScoop...
A unique shaped shaft which absorbs wall and floor impacts for more comfort and durability, yet provides full frame stiffness for maximum ball striking power.

Triple Threat...
A unique balanced weighting system featuring the Triple Braid material - woven titanium, copper and carbon that's placed in three critical racquet locations: 10 o'clock, 2 o'clock and the bottom of the handle. This creates a larger sweet spot in every direction, ultimate stability for increased power and control, and reduced arm shock.

GraphitExtreme...
Lightweight premium grade graphite/carbon composite increases stiffness to bring you more power.

LongBody...
The longer racquet revolution now adds a new dimension to racquetball! One-half to one-inch longer than standard length racquets, perfectly balanced LongBody racquets make the game easier to play. A LongBody racquet adds up to 10% more power and as much as 13% more reach to your game.

Wallbeater Bumper System...
Less shock. Patent-pending bumper system reduces shock from impact 70% as well as frame breakage vs. normal plastic bumpers.

Exclusive RacquetWorld Racquet Ratings
Ratings and comparisons for all racquets can be found in Racquetworld's Technology/Ratings Section
Racquetworld's Durability Rating: 92.00
Racquetworld's Power Rating: Age 24- 89.76 Age 35 89.76 Age 45+ 87.84
Racquetworld's Control Rating #1 (Front Court): 93.12
Control 1 (Front Court) represents how the racquet handles upfront in the court. We’re basically looking at how certain components stacked together produce good (or bad) racquet maneuverability. To figure this out we look at the weight, balance point, and shape of the frame. We throw all this info into Pat’s brain along with a couple hours of hit testing and out pops the rating. This value is useful especially for doubles players who find themselves covering the upfront court a lot. It’s also good to know if you’re a good server and find yourself quickly putting away returns off your serve without leaving front middle court.
Racquetworld's Control Rating #2 (Back Court): 92.16
Control 2 (Back Court) represents the traditional control rating when taking a full shot from mid to back court. Our goal with control is to redirect the Force of the ball. We again focus on weight, balance point, shape, string pattern and tension, frame stiffness and on court experience.
Racquetworld's Overall Rating: Age 24- 91.14 Age 35 91.14 Age 45+ 90.18
